I am charged with the murder of the CEO of the company I work for. The victim was found dead in his office cabin on the 31 march, 2010 at about 8 o'clock in the morning. The accusation targeted on me is baseless and holds no connection to reality. I can confidently state that I was not in the office at the time of this crime. In fact, I was not even in the same town. Nevertheless, I honestly hold no reason to have murdered him. My relation with him was that of an employer and employee. It was nothing personal and the news of his murder was a tragic shock to me. I can prove my alibi through a series of events to show that I am innocent.
On the 31 march, 2010, at about 6 o'clock I set off for my home town. I had taken two days leave from office and I was not to show up anyway. Office records can be checked for my two days leave, submitted few days before it. I therefore left the house at 6 o'clock on account of my cousin's wedding arranged in my home town. The invitation card was posted a week prior to the wedding on the office address, and I am sure it is still lying somewhere in my office cabin. Wedding dates and venues can therefore be confirmed.
Crime
Driving a distance of 20 minutes I realized that my car's engine was having problems. I thus took it to the mechanic who told me it would take a couple of days to mend the problem, by then it was around 6:30. I left my car there and although I knew that there were only slight chances to find train tickets at the eleventh hour, but I still went to the train station and fortunately after a long negotiation with the ticket receptionist I managed to convince her for providing me an urgent ticket. By the time, she handed over the ticket to me, it was 7:15. Please notice that the distance needed to travel to the place of murder from there is about an hour. I am sure the receptionist will recognize me if she is asked.
After purchasing the ticket (which must be available at their records), I took the seat by the window. Next to me sat a Pakistani couple, with whom I had a bit of an introduction. They live somewhere close to the city square, they told me. They may be consulted to confirm my presence there at that time. It was by then, 7:30am and I took a little nap. At the time of murder, I was right beside that couple in the train, taking a nap. Just when my eyes opened, the train had stopped at the next station stop. It was around 8:45 am. I stepped down looking for restroom. I could hear sound of gliders in the sky and then I heard some locals talking about the annual glider show that takes place only once a year and that too at a specific time between 8:00 to 9:00 in the morning. I took my cell phone out of my pocket and shot the gliders in the sky. The photos are still in the memory of my phone along with the time and date. I also got some shots of myself there at the station. If the murder took place at 8 o'clock then it is logically impossible that the murderer could be there at that station.
I stayed in my home town for the next two days; you can see me in the wedding photos and movie. Even the hundreds of guests invited at the wedding can prove my innocence. I reached my destination at sharp 12 noon, which was not possible if I had set off after murdering the victim. My alibi clearly proves me not guilty. Please consider the series of events and my alibi as depicted.
