Welcome to Crick Howell. In the county of Powys there is a land of beauty seemingly touched by the hand of God himself. This lovely little town of about two thousand people is nestled away in the central Wales valley. Who would imagine, such a lovely gem such as Crick Howell would be only a mere three hour drive from the hustle and bustle of London.
Crick Howell is quaint. The streets lined with small family owned shops. Here you may purchase necessary items as well as souvenirs. There are bakeries and grocers all with the charm you expect of a Norman Rockwell painting. On a sunny day one might sit and watch the sheep and mountain ponies freely grazing in the fields. Crick Howell is truly a peaceful gentler place, where they do not worry about security systems and extra locks. Here the crime rate is over two and a half times less than the average of all Britain.
The movie "How green was my valley?" comes to mind when speaking with the kind, friendly people of crick well. What a lovely way to live outside of all the hectic goings on of the city.
You might ask "wouldn't I become bored?" Well the writer certainly wouldn't. However if you need more than peace and serenity Crick Howell has so much more to offer. Brecon Beacon mountain range runs directly through Crick Howell, and it is practically a paradise for mountain bikers and hikers as well as lovers of other outdoor activities.
Bring the kids along and discover what it is like to mine coal. Crick well like most of Wales was once a leading producer of coal. Or check out the Welsh mountain zoo where you have the opportunity to become zoo keeper for a day.
There is so much beauty and so many things to do, I can not imagine anyone having the chance to be near the county of Powys and not visiting Crick well.
